Candidates Certified for Littleton City Council Election
Littleton City Clerk Julie Bower has certified the nomination petitions of eight candidates for the Littleton City Council. The municipal election will be held November 6, 2007.
In District II, the northeast quadrant of the city, the candidates are: Bruce Stahlman and Joseph Trujillo. Voters will select one candidate for a four-year term.
In District IV, the southwest quadrant of the city, the two candidates are: Debbie Brinkman and Cindy Christensen. Voters will select one candidate for a four-year term.
In the At Large race, the candidates are: Doug Clark, Peggy Cole, Amy Conklin, and Tony Gallagher. Voters will select two candidates – the candidate receiving the most votes will serve a four-year term; the candidate receiving the second highest number of votes will serve a two-year term.
Candidates circulated petitions from August 7-27 to obtain the signatures of 50 registered electors residing within the city or the district for which the candidate is seeking office.
Registered electors should receive their mail ballots from the county clerks from October 12-22. The deadline to register is October 9.
Council terms begin November 20, 2007, the second Tuesday following the election. Members of the city council will elect the mayor and mayor pro tem at that meeting for two-year terms.
