City Council Retreat in Littleton

Littleton City Council and some staff members will retreat to the Littleton Museum at 8:00 am on Friday February 2 to discuss their priorities for 2007. The public may attend but not speak.

This full day meeting is the first in some years to take place in the city and will only last for one day. Last year, they retreated to a private club at the Garden of The Gods area of Colorado Springs. That two day affair included rooms for the council and staff and three meals.

Staying in Littleton in a public building so that citizens can attend is a refreshing change.

Cronenberger Resigns

Littleton City Council Member Pat Cronenberger resigned from the Littleton District II seat on Wednesday January 31. The resignation took place the day after she made the motion to approve the rezoning for Wal-Mart on Santa Fe Drive. That successful motion was passed by a 4-3 vote. Had she resigned one day earlier, the rezoning would not have passed.

The remaining six Council Members will choose a successor within 30 days. The new council member will serve until November of this year.
