The fight against Wal-Mart is still not over

City Council has spoken
Now it’s the citizens’ turn

Attend the community meeting tonight at Bemis Public Library at 7:00pm

We will discuss options and strategies for our next steps.
We can still stop the 24-hour Wal-Mart SuperCenter from being built next to South Platte Park.

There will be a community meeting to discuss City Council’s vote this Wednesday January 31st, at 7:00pm at the Bemis Public Library.

Wal-Mart Rezoning Passed

In a 4 to 3 vote late last night, the Littleton City Council passed the rezoning request to allow Wal-Mart to build on Santa Fe next to the $2 million open space purchased by the city in 2003.

The motion to approve the rezoning was made by Councilmember Pat Cronenberger and seconded by Amy Conklin. Mayor Jim Taylor and John Ostermiller joined them in the vote to allow Wal-Mart to build there.

Those who voted against it were Tom Mulvey, Doug Clark and Rebecca Kast.
