Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder Nancy A. Doty is reporting a successful General Election. There were no significant problems with voting equipment and no undue delays in voters casting their vote during the November 7 General Election.

Approximately 60 percent of the active registered voters participated in this year’s election. In the 2004 Presidential Election nearly 93 percent active registered voters participated.

“The successful election was due to the excellent hard work of my dedicated staff and the nearly 1,600 poll workers,” said Nancy. “Many poll workers reported a positive learning experience and felt they had greatly contributed to the democratic process.”

Kudos to Councilmember Tom Mulvery for keeping the pressure on so that interested citizens can watch the Wal-Mart hearings on Channel 8.
