City Council Mtg on DVD

City Council Meeting to Appoint
New Council Member Available on DVD

The Littleton City Council met on Monday, February 19th in special session to select Pat Cronenberger’s replacement for her remaining term as council member. They met in the Community Room to interview the eight candidates. They choose not to meet in the council chambers next door and not to televise the meeting.

The Littleton Examiner hired a professional video recording firm to record the meeting on DVD. A copy of the DVD will be provided to the city and to the library. It is a shame that council would not televise the meeting. Every meeting of city council should be held in a location that allows real time broadcasting and recording.

New Council Member: Bruce Stahlman

On February 20, Bruce Stahlman was selected by Littleton City Council Members to represent Littleton City Council District II.

Eight District II citizens applied to fill the vacancy caused by Pat Cronenberger’s resignation. Stahlman was appointed after a February 19th Special Session of City Council in which all candidates were interviewed.

Stahlman, who is a CPA, stated that he has no political agenda.

This appointment will expire at the next general city election in November. He indicated that he will consider running for a full four term. At press time, Stahlman’s email address was not published on the city website, but soon will be. His voice mail phone number is 303-734-8313.
