Wal-Mart Opposition Continues

Wednesday January 31, many of the opponents of the Wal-Mart rezoning met at Bemis Library to plan a referendum petition to overturn the rezoning approved by Littleton City Council.

The crowd filled the room and included Littleton City Council Members Doug Clark and Rebecca Kast. They both voted against the rezoning with Tom Mulvey.

Kast addressed the crowd at length, urging them not to attempt recall on any council members. She responded to questions from the audience and stayed for the rest of the meeting. Clark stayed for the meeting and spoke with members of the audience until the library closed.

The group of citizens at this meeting agreed to organize a petition drive to gather the 2,767 signatures of Littleton Registered Voters that are necessary to overturn the Council rezoning.
